Saturday Silliness: Stupid Things in Super Slow Motion
from PetaPixel
***
There’s a Danish TV show called “Dumt & Farligt” in which two guys are given a house and the task of doing stupid and dangerous things that come to mind. In addition to recording the experiments in real time, the show decided to also use a Phantom Flex high speed camera to capturing everything at 2,500 frames per second. The video above provides a slow motion look at things ranging from setting off large fireworks indoors to microwaving a bottle of red wine.

OK, so do these guys work for Acme or the Little Giant Novelty Co. of Walla Walla, WA. Wile E. Coyote has nothing on these guys, the rocket powered clothesline was pretty cool and why would anyone microwave wine. Hope that their homeowners insurance and fire insurance policies are paid up.

WOOOO HOOO!
This may well be the all time greatest video of all time. I laughed! I cried! I long to do this crap at home!
Note: women will not understand the sheer greatness of this stuff. It’s like Three Stooges- the gals don’t get it.

I thought the flour + candle was pretty cool, and who knew wine could do that to a microwave!

What was the second object to hit the coke can?

Flour and the candle – didn’t know it would do that. Securing the coke being halved by the chainsaw with a pitchfork tines down was not the best method. In fact, skip the pitchfork entirely. Superglue the cap and base to something non-maiming.

We used to do the flour and flame thing all the time interestingly enough we found out that coffee creamer works significantly better. The mowing the carpet thing was interesting must have been shagg.

Not sure whose house this was filmed at but I don’t want to clean it.

Trust me…I’m no clean freak, but I kept thinking “How are they ever going to clean that UP?”
In the case of the indoor fireworks, it started several separate fires. Hope they had the FD parked outside, or that house was a goner.
@jclady, flour is highly combustible and there have been numerous flour mill fires. Actually, it’s not the flour so much, but the flour “dust”. And that’s your science lesson for today!

What does Danish TV have against Coke?
Coke bottle halved by a chainsaw and a coke can shot with a bullet?
How would they feel if we did that with a bottle of Carlsberg or Tuborg?

Totally awesome! Enjoyed it and loved the jet powered clothes dryer. I can see that in my back yard. Ha!

Yeah, Joe, me too. I was goin’ along with the whole thing, thinking that all this stuff is usual for these types of videos, and then – “Rocket Powered Drying Rack” just tickled my fancy to death! But it made wonder why they didn’t use, oh – I dunno – about fifty more rockets.
Ya take what you can get.

Grandpa and I spent almost $58,000 in the last 24 months remodeling our once-decrepit farm house. These are the LAST two guys we would want to see showing up at our door.
BTW, wasting a bullet on a decent can of Coca-Cola or blowing up a bottle of wine in a microwave shows me how much these guys value a dollar! No thanks!
