“I think that it’s important for any candidate in public office to be as transparent as possible, to let people know who we are, what we stand for, and you know, I think that this is just carrying on a tradition that has existed throughout the modern presidency,” Obama said yesterday, according to a transcript of the interview released today. The interview will air on Univision’s “Al Punto” program on Sunday.

Be careful what all of you are wishing for. This is a planned attack. Obama is demanding that Romney release his tax records. Why? Why talk of transparency and releasing records when Obama is guilty of not doing those things himself?
The conspiracy theorist in me sees this: It has taken Obama nearly 4 years to complete the doctoring of his college transcripts. That’s the reason he signed an order sealing them and why he spent millions to protect them. He needed time to get them perfect, or at least much better than his birth certificate, photos, and selective services forms.
Now, he “claims” that his likely opponent is not transparent and should release his tax records. When Romney fires back, Obama produces the fraudulent transcripts and he’s free and clear. Romney looks like an idiot and loses points because he walked right into the ambush.
Someone needs to develop a strategy where Romney fires back but Obama is the one that fails. For all to see. Where is Jim Phelps when you need him?
