The NBC producer responsible for the misleading edit of the George Zimmerman’s 911 call has been fired. The producer was reportedly fired Thursday, but the firing did not hit the press until this Friday evening, just before a holiday weekend. NBC News had no comment on the firing.

There was speculation earlier today that Today show producer Jim Bell might have been the person responsible for the edit, which portrayed Zimmerman as a racist, or having a racial motive in shooting Trayvon Martin. Bell did not respond to a question directed at his Twitter account earlier today.

    From the NewsBusters article:

…NBC is still insisting the deceptive edit was not done deliberatiely.

The conservative racist video editing fairies did it when no one was looking.

The network has refused to say how exactly someone could accidentally have edited the tape to make Zimmerman appear to be racially motivated.

    Simple, you twits; they COULDN’T!

The action came in the wake of an internal investigation by NBC News…

…that was going nowhere because we didn’t want it to. Our original action was to give the producer a raise but then the blogosphere figured it out and it forced us to actually do the right thing.

The people with direct knowledge of the firing characterized the misleading edit as a mistake, not a purposeful act.

How many times do they have to say that? I’m guessing it’s one of those tell a lie often enough and it become the truth. Personally, I think they do protest to much.

There no term limitating statute for homicides.

That includes parties acting as accessory before the fact.

So for all you critical racists out there, sleep tight on that charge you’ve lit.

Wait a minute, wasn’t NBC the same “news” outlet that set up an ignitor on the Chevy truck saddle tank “expose”?
And wasn’t it Tom Brokaw, the NBC news guy who jumped up and shouted “We won!” after reporting that Al Gore won in Florida?

    NBC can KMA.

Wow, now the networks are competing with the WH in doing Friday night news dumps then whistling past the graveyard. It will be interesting to see whether ABC, CBS or CNN cover this. Kind of a tough choice, on one hand it’s a chance to screw a competitor on the other hand they’re on the same side trying to gin up race conflict.

Probably Zimmerman’s lawyer was getting ready to slap a slander lawsuit on them. Rush yesterday kept asking why the producer was still employed at NBC. Watch this story go away fast.

What I see is a black reporter, Ron Allen, lynching a Hispanic, correction, “White” Hispanic man on national television. Why is NBC letting him hide behind the skirts or pants of some anonymous low paid “producer”. It’s HIS story, it’s HIS racist face on the tube, it’s HIS racist voice speaking, it’s HIS responsibility.

They are claiming that someone was fired for doing that edit. We don’t know if that is actually the case or not.
