NBC NEWS Fires Editgate Producer
The NBC producer responsible for the misleading edit of the George Zimmerman’s 911 call has been fired. The producer was reportedly fired Thursday, but the firing did not hit the press until this Friday evening, just before a holiday weekend. NBC News had no comment on the firing.
There was speculation earlier today that Today show producer Jim Bell might have been the person responsible for the edit, which portrayed Zimmerman as a racist, or having a racial motive in shooting Trayvon Martin. Bell did not respond to a question directed at his Twitter account earlier today.

…that was going nowhere because we didn’t want it to. Our original action was to give the producer a raise but then the blogosphere figured it out and it forced us to actually do the right thing.
How many times do they have to say that? I’m guessing it’s one of those tell a lie often enough and it become the truth. Personally, I think they do protest to much.

Wow, now the networks are competing with the WH in doing Friday night news dumps then whistling past the graveyard. It will be interesting to see whether ABC, CBS or CNN cover this. Kind of a tough choice, on one hand it’s a chance to screw a competitor on the other hand they’re on the same side trying to gin up race conflict.

What I see is a black reporter, Ron Allen, lynching a Hispanic, correction, “White” Hispanic man on national television.
