Done. I saw a documentary on this very thing a few months ago. It was very frightening to see people suffering so much from this disease and so many doctors who were trying to help were losing their license over it. Zilla is right, this type of thing is our future under Obamacare and it has already started.

Oh, Zilla, I am so sorry to read what you are going through.
Although your frustration must be through the roof, it does sound as if the new doctor is ‘on the ball’.

It seems like lyme disease is starting to rear it
s ugly head more than usual. My sister in law just recovered from having lyme disease and rocky mountain spotted fever. she had it for 6 months before the doctor finally tested for it.

And I am just now finishing up antibiotics for Rocky mountain spotted fever from a tick bite that would have gone unnoticed if I hadn’t told the doctor about my sister in law. It’s crazy that something so common is continually misdiagnosed.

I consider myself a lyme disease survivor. Both my wife and I suffered similar symptoms that you described for many years. We are both almost 100% cured for at least four years now. I will send you an e-mail message about support groups, and information regarding Lyme that was crucial in our ability to fight it off.

Thank you BFH and Reiuxcat, and all of you wonderful iOTW friends at the blog and here in the comments section! I love you all.
The good news is that I found a specialist, who has an excellent reputation, an hour away from my home, and thanks to everybody who is helping me, I was able to pay for the visit today. They took lots of blood for testing and really seem to know their stuff. The bad news is that I am currently very VERY sick with something called a Herxheimer reaction, which is due to me being poisoned by neurotoxins as the antibiotics start to kill the Lyme bacteria and they release horrible evil stuff as their “FU” to their host victim. From what I read, this is a one of those “it gets worse before it gets better” things and hopefully I’ll be less sick soon, but today is really really bad. I will try to update my blog tomorrow to thank everybody who has linked to me and let everyone know what’s going on, and hopefully be able to catch up on the thank you emails I need to send to all the nice people who hit my tip jar to help me. Thank you all so much for everything. I truly do love y’all.

While reading the recount of your physical situation, I was in disbelief. It was as if you were writing about me – including the relief in my body during 2 rounds of antibiotics for a root canal gone awry.

I was tested 14 years ago for Lyme’s but results came back negative. I believed then and still think I have it. Body inflammation and cartilage erosion is too fast and furious for arthritis only.
