Mondo, you get a thumbs up just for mentioning the name of Arnold Ziffle. Come to think of it I loved Green Acres — nothing but pure relentless stupidity. Everyone on the show was a cheerful idiot!
Oh, but then comedy had to “break new ground” and explore issues and say important (liberal) things.
But in the end, the joke was on the ground breakers. Their shows didn’t stand the test of time!! Observe some kid watching “All in the Family” — nothing. Then turn to “Gilligan’s Island” and watch them roll on the floor
