Google Caves To Pressure and Now Picking and Choosing What To Censor

Home - by BigFurHat - November 25, 2009 - 10:19 UTC - 27 Comments

O-pression is here.

Do I like this image of Michelle Obama as an ape? michelle-obama-ape  No, I don’t. Mainly because it has absolutely no comedic value. My personnel litmus test is – “did it make me laugh?” This didn’t. And it’s a bad photoshop, to boot. But why should my opinion be powerful enough to have it expunged from a search engine? Well, frankly, my opinion isn’t. So the question is, who’s opinion was that powerful to have this image removed? (The “official” story is that the website where the image appeared “voluntarily” took it down. Uh huh.) Certainly GOOGLE didn’t arrive at this decision on their own. As of yesterday they were issuing statements in support of 1st amendment rights and the picture remained (with a disclaimer stating they didn’t condone the image.) That wasn’t good enough for whomever was putting the pressure on the biggest search engine in the world.

Did Bush pressure GOOGLE to remove these images? Or the hundreds of images just like it?

dorko_the_monkey_boyIf he did, GOOGLE didn’t listen. Or perhaps Bush better understands the concept of free speech and resisted making that phone call, even though he isn’t the constitutional scholar.

Progressives are a dumb and thuggish bunch. It’s pretty easy to get them to uncloak their bigotry, particularly in the case of the Bush Monkey vs. Michelle Monkey imagery. “The Michelle image is racially offensive, silly.” One can see them nervously looking around and in a whisper, reminiscent of a Jim Gaffigan routine, saying, “it’s the blacks that look like monkeys.” Ironically, censoring the Michelle image and NOT the Bush image is just as offensive as the image itself. Certainly progressives are smart enough to realize that, no? umm, NO.

I did a quick google image search of the word JEWS. Here are some results from the first page:

First page of a Mexican image search:

mexI could go on, but the point is made. The problem here is the kowtowing to what the person in power finds offensive. It’s only a matter of time before my Happy Turkey Day image is removed for being “racially offensive.” Don’t laugh. With progressives in power any absurdity, any shackle, is possible.

The last 8 years if you googled the word “Failure”
it took you straight to the GWB white house homepage.
I complained about that and was told that nothing could or SHOULD be done about it.
Someone at Google must have set that up but the entire company thought it was cute enough and NON OFFENSIVE enough to leave there.
Now they protecting Obama? It does not suprise me.

The paper-thin skinned left strikes again. I can’t believe what crybaby little bitches these guys are. Dubya never even gave a damn about this petty little crap. We all knew it was just ignorant crap when we saw those images of Bush but Obeyme and all his little pansies can’t stop crying even after they got control of everything. So sad.

I found comedic merit in all of those pictures. Something is ALWAYS going to be offensive to some sensitive pansy. What’s funny to some is never going to be funny to all. I thought that picture of Michelle was rather flattering.

Some of the best comedy is racially offensive.
Here, try this one out – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XMr3QO2Sbc

Nearly ALL comedy is offensive to somebody. I thought the JEWS parody of JAWS was funny.

I’m convinced that True Progressives only think about 10 seconds into the future, if that. They clamor for selective censorship – e.g. Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. – without realizing that in setting a precedent, censorship can be used against them. Ironically for progressives, most conservatives don’t support curtailing the First Amendment, thereby protecting progressives’ rights.

The problem for True Progressives is, simply stated, not many people really believe the crap they espouse. Fox News hammers MSNBC in the ratings – ratings essentially being a vote of the viewing public – so the answer is to put the brakes on Fox. An extremely short-sighted view, but all to common for progressives.

I agree, Wyatt. I’ve always seen their entire political platform as “let’s see if THIS works!!” to which it never does. It’s all based on lofty ideals and ridiculous plans that are NEVER based on facts or proof. This whole administration is like the kids in Lord of the Flies.

They don’t believe in Progress, so why call them “Progressives?” They are flat out Nazis – Socialists of the vilest sort. To refer to them as “Progressives” is to give them a patina of respectability.

Well, Hiney has the intelligence of a rotten turnip (my apologies to rotten turnips) and the maturity of a 5-year-old. Since he rarely comments any more, I guess he’s figured out that we’re laughing at him, so he runs in here, gives everyone a thumbs down, then hightails it out of here.

At the very least, it’s significant that Google is out of the closet and is exposed as collaborating with the libs. I didn’t even suspect that.

And these are the people who said the ultimate evil was the suppression of free flow of information. But then again libs have been saying that for 50 years. But now, maybe kids under 30 will begin to understand.

for some reason i didn’t see this thread wasn’t showing when i posted two comments on the Gobble Gobble turkey pic thread about this.

this story about the “ape” pic of Michelle is getting even weirder. i just googled her name only, then took a screen shot of the results. at the top is the “Related searches” suggestion underlined:
    “michelle obama monkey”

so i did an image search also just using her name only and again, the “Related searches” shows “michele obama monkey”

are these results reflecting just how tempermental google’s search engine is? or is somebody monkeying around with it? bad pun intended.

Jimmie the Hiney is a little rascal who likes to jump in here and give everyone a ‘Cyber Noogie’

It’s funnier when he’s stealth. Like the little mouse turds I find every morning around the dryer vent.

A commentator said recently that Jimmie’s anger was caused by his father making him dress up as the St. Pauli Girl each year at the Elk’s Lodge Christmas Party.
