Jesse Ventura Is Worried About Losing His Credibility?

Home - by - January 9, 2012 - 10:00 America/New_York - 22 Comments

When did he have any?

He keeps running around saying he was a navy SEAL. He wasn’t. He’s a liar.

Another picture of James Janos, far leftNow he says a real SEAL is lying about knocking him the ef out when he disparaged a team member’s death.

Who do you suppose has the more annoying voice, James Janos or Alex Jones?

Jesse Ventura wasn’t what he said he was?

Gee, Wally I just assumed that, because he was a one time proffessional wrestler and liberal politician, everything that came out of his mouth was the unvarnished truth

Ventura was UDT and NOT A SEAL! There is a distinction between the two.

Jesse Ventura’s fifteen minutes are just about up.

He’s a blowhard and the worst kind of phony, who attracts losers who only WISH they could be blowhards and phonies like him.

Living in Minnesota, I’ve heard enough of Jesse to only laugh at him anymore. According to someone who served with him, his military stint was spent mostly working in the supply room (and probably drinking beer) He really was a wrestler though…too bad they didn’t do more testing for concussions back in those days.

I was more than a little skeptical of Ventura’s claim that he was a Navy SEAL….wonder which base he was stationed at since there are only 2 in the country that have SEALs- San Diego and my hometown, Va Beach? He doesn’t have what it takes to be a Navy SEAL and that’s blatantly obvious…he wouldn’t have made it through training!!

To borrow from Barkley, when he was in the NBA icing a Timberwolve player shooting a free throw at the end of the game (the guy missed)… Ventura is so uptight, he couldn’t put a pin up his butt with a jack hammer.

Anonymous obscurity is preferred…whether identified involuntarily or voluntarily, those that choose to embrace the public spotlight do so as guardians of their brother’s legacy…and that legacy will be defended and honored until there is nothing left to defend and, or no one left to honor.

I respect the fact that this man served our nation…and that is where my respect ends.

From September 11, 1969, to September 10, 1975, during the Vietnam War era, Ventura served in the United States Navy.

Ventura graduated with BUD/S class 58 in December 1970 and was part of Underwater Demolition Team 12 (UDT).

The UDTs were merged with the US Navy SEALs in 1983, 8 years after Ventura had left the Navy.

Bill Salisbury, an attorney in San Diego and a former Navy SEAL officer, accused Ventura of “pretending” to be a SEAL and wrote that Ventura would be blurring an important distinction by claiming to be a SEAL when he was actually a frogman with the UDT.

Compared to SEAL Teams, UDTs saw less combat and took fewer casualties.

Following that, Governor Ventura’s office confirmed that Ventura was a member of the UDTs. His spokesman stated that Ventura has never tried to convince people otherwise.[9] Ventura stated: “Today we refer to all of us as SEALs; that’s all it is,” and described the accusations of lying about being a SEAL as “[m]uch ado about nothing.”

Ventura has frequently referred to his military career in public statements and debates.

He was criticized by hunters and conservationists for stating in an interview with the Minneapolis StarTribune in April 2001, “Until you have hunted men, you haven’t hunted yet.”

In January 2002, Ventura disclosed for the first time that he did not see combat. He did NOT receive the Combat Action Ribbon, which was awarded to those involved in a firefight or who went on clandestine or special operations where the risk of enemy fire was great or expected.

sWamp-ass — excellent report of the facts, thank you.

I would say that it is up to the SEAL community to determine whether or not Ventura deserves the SEAL label. I couldn’t have survived BUD/S training, so I’m not in a position to judge.

NOT a WWF fan, or even a Ventura fan
per se –but he seems to be genuinely
on to some things –and it seems obvious
this Kyle thing is a staged set up.

NOTE: the disclosure only happened AFTER
Ventura was known to have left the country
    for remote Mexico.

Also, that KYLE would break SEAL ranks
to discredit another SEAL, in public,
is very bad form —-and so hard to believe.
