Tired Old Race Card Played Against Us Again – By Our OWN PARTY CHAIR
That’s right, Michael Steele, the RNC Chair, said the following in an interview with Roland Martin this weekend:
MARTIN: But your candidates got to talk to them. One of the criticisms I’ve always had is Republicans — white Republicans — have been scared of black folks.
STEELE: You’re absolutely right. I mean I’ve been in the room and they’ve been scared of me.
I beg to differ, Mr. Steele. I used to like you very much and was sincerely happy when you were chosen RNC Chair. I’m not scared of you, but now I really think you are an idiot.
Your job is to build up the Republican party, not shoot down its members by furthering the left’s agenda – painting us all as ignorant racists. Good grief, we already have the Press trying to do that to us. There is also no need for any sort of apology tour for invented grievances; we have a President for that. With a Party Chair like you, who needs enemies?
The racist card is rightfully and finally being declined everywhere – stop trying to accept it again!

Roland Martin? I thought ‘Laugh In’ was canceled decades ago..
Isn’t a big part of Steele’s job to kinda be the public relations for the Repubs? Kinda makes me wish for the last Chairman- whoever he was.

The only reason anyone in the RNC would have to be afraid of Steele is they are afraid of what crap is going to come rollin’ out of his mouth next. They are only scared of how much they are going to have to scramble to cover his a$$.
I miss the days of when we actually had intellegent people in places of leadership.

This is probably what we get for electing as RNC chair a guy from Maryland. Sorry Maryland.

Electing this buffoon was the idea of the republican leadership to attract blacks…guess what?,,,it has not worked. Steele is known in the black community as an “oreo-cookie”. The republican party will soon dump him and he will become,”homeless”. The current conservative movement is not the party of Lincoln. It is ruled by a group of old white men, with 1940’s mentality and the younger voters in your party can see this….THAT IS ONE OF THE REASON YOU LOST THE ELECTION LAST YEAR.
Steele will be gone before 2011…

Hines. Virginia went Red. New Jersey went Red. And what exactly is an oreo cookie? (Beside the black on the outside, white on the inside thing?)
I think the most “antique” way of thinking, that is keeping blacks down, is the fear of “being white.”
I would love for you to define what “being white” means.

“being white” according to the high school kids in my town:
ask not axe
annunciating
wearing belts
saying ‘ma’am’ and ’sir’
getting a summer job that stinks but being proud of it
putting the apostrophe in y’all between y and a instead of a and l. (ya’ll)
I asked the non-white kids in this group if they’ve ever been told they were acting white. Yes and lots of head nodding (with the caveat that blacks say it, not whites). Do you care? No, because the kids that say that aren’t going anywhere, and when we go to college, we won’t see them anymore.

Snark, you are a woman that has outgrown your intellectual britches, perhaps you are protruding in areas that should not be disclosed. Perhaps your brain has grown so large as to venture into Michelle belt land, oh suffer me, please, I will not let myself be trite here. I must admit, I find you irresistible and I must suffer in silence.

Maybe it’s the Rum & Coke®, but I can’t seem to follow this thread one iota. Aside from RINO Steele’s foot-in-mouth disease, what is everyone talking about?

Steele is a huge disappointment. I’ve liked him for years, before he started shoving his feet in his mouth! He’s got RINO syndrome in a big way…and it’s disappointing. Self hating RINO. Just like McLame, and Goober (RINO, SC)

The only reason I could ever see for Michael Steele to be made chairman of the Repugs is the same reason Obama was made president:
Affirmative action.along with the embarrassingly transparent ploy of, “we see your negro and raise” moronic mentality that has beset the republicans for too many years.

““we see your negro and raise”
If we followed that logic, we’d be pretty damn stupid indeed! We get RINO a chairmen, they get the Presidency… Shitty deal for us! Steele has earned his creds, but lost his way. He’s not alone. (McShame, Goober, Snowjob, etc). He’s not a RINO because he’s black, he’s a RINO because he doesn’t understand, or value, true conservative principles! When pressed, he caves. Pathetic. It has nothing to do with the color of his skin!! Libs, dems, and retards think that, not us!! I see your point, and I hope it’s wrong. The left is the party of Racism, not the right.

Major Hassan, the Fort Hood shooter (no relation, by the way) considered himself a Muslim first, and an American second. I do not consider that wrong because I think of myself as a Christian first and an American second. But my beliefs as a Christian coincide with the Constitution of the United States.
I used to consider Mr. Michael Steele a devout believer in the Constitution. However, I am beginning to believe that he is black first, and an American second. Discrimination and affirmative action have nothing to do with equality in my standards. I remember Christ saying, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” That says it all.

You know, I had a genuine post-racial feeling with this guy- not empty rhetoric like Obama, seemed to me he was largely focused on issues/campaigns… so what’s THIS all about?
I’ve defended him on my blog more than once and gave him the complete benefit of the doubt, too- although a bit out of his depth, I thought he’d grow into the job- I like his personality, and hey- at least the guy’s got a sense of humor.
But after NY-23 I lost most respect for him… that’s largely his fault for letting it go down like that– he’s the boss, and it was botched, that’s all I know.
Hey Mike, I’m not afraid of you, man- unless you’re referring to your ability to quarterback us through the 2010 midterms that are the one last hope for this country.
We need to get that right, so I’m sure you’ll understand it if you get benched– nothing personal, and CERTAINLY nothing racial about it… you’re just disappointing us, that’s all.

I don’t think Carlos’ post was racially intended, except for the unavoidable fact that both men are black. If the Dems had elected a granny in a walker, well, by golly, we’d have one too. No creative or courageous thought in either party, actually. That’s why Sarah and Michelle can stun the left as they do, everyone’s been operating without gonads and their absence is sorely noticed.
Steele needs to grow a set before too long – or he should be benched – there’s too much at stake.

Most of the black and white kids in my town aspire to all of the same things and more. But the last few years are tough due to the economy and lack of jobs….Thanks to GB. Check your sentence fragements. The lack of college shows…and who will not see “them”, as you phrase it?

Dear Hindmost (apologies to L Niven)
In my town, the [b/]kids[b] aspire to improving themselves. And we got all kinds here. But only a libtard such as yo’ self still see color partitians when dealing with social issues.
Psst…It’s Obama and Pelosi and Reid’s economy now. How about stop blaming and start solving instead of breaking the back of small business’ with more taxes.
