I’d Like to Say Something to Huckabee That Rhymes with Huck
I’d like to say something to Governor Huckabee that rhymes with Huck Boo, but I’m a lady. Mostly. A lady who is infuriated and disgusted by the original actions of Governor Huckabee in commuting Maurice Clemmons sentence and in his subsequent lack of taking any responsibility for his actions.
In case you aren’t aware, Maurice Clemmons is the suspect of a shooting yesterday in which four police officers in Lakewood, WA were ambushed and shot dead in cold blood.
Those killed were identified as Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39, and officers Ronald Owens, 37, Tina Griswold, 40, and Gregory Richards, 42.
The Lakewood Police Benevolent Guild is raising money for the families of the officers:

The officers left behind spouses, loved ones and NINE children. Anyone with half a brain (obviously this doesn’t include Huckabee) realizes that if Clemmons was still incarcerated, AS HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN, these officer would be alive today and their children wouldn’t be devastated by the loss of a parent. Governor Huckabee gave him clemency. In his statement today, he makes no mention of that and, instead, does his usual trick of finger pointing and blaming others.
Should he be found to be responsible for this horrible tragedy, it will be the result of a series of failures in the criminal justice system in both Arkansas and Washington State. He was recommended for and received a commutation of his original sentence from 1990, this commutation made him parole eligible and he was then paroled by the parole board once they determined he met the conditions at that time. He was arrested later for parole violation and taken back to prison to serve his full term, but prosecutors dropped the charges that would have held him. It appears that he has continued to have a string of criminal and psychotic behavior but was not kept incarcerated by either state.
Oh, it’s the parole board! And the fault of two states! Dear Huckabee: YOU were the governor of the state that let him go. YOU. No one else. I think I’ll start calling you Huckbama as you are just like him. You talk a good game, but you are a fool. And you take NO responsibility for your own actions. As a DIRECT RESULT of YOUR actions, four brave, good people are dead.
The least you can do is take responsibility for your decisions and show the slightest bit of contrition.
The officers received no clemency.
Nor did their children.

If I’m ever to get the electric chair I demand it be with a Green Energy Chair, it will guarantee me a long and healthy life. Here is a huge green “success story” from Massachusetts:
“Solar power is a key component of our clean energy future,” said Gov. Deval Patrick this summer, announcing a plan to install large-scale solar photovoltaic power installations throughout the commonwealth.
Just a few weeks later, the governor helped cut the ribbon at the opening of Evergreen Solar’s new plant in Devens, built with $58 million in state funds.
“We love the jobs, and we love that the jobs include manufacturing jobs,” Patrick said. “I look to this facility as a symbol of the kind of industry we want to build, as a symbol of the future.”
But half a year later the forecast for solar’s future – not to mention the governor’s other green initiatives – is looking cloudy with an increasing chance of failure.
Earlier this month, Evergreen Solar shocked everyone by announcing it is cutting up to half of the 800 jobs at the brand-new, taxpayer-bought Devens plant and shipping them to China. Solar panel materials will still be manufactured in Massachusetts (at least for now), but they will be assembled in a locale with much cheaper costs.

Climategate is HUGE, right?

The “Mainstream Media” are collectively ignoring what could be the biggest hoax of a generation – and one of the biggest in history. The recent revelation of hacked researchers’ emails shows that they have been falsifying climate data to fit their political agenda for many years. In other words, manmade global warming is fake, a hoax, bogus, a Big Lie. No, Virginia, There is NOT a Santa Claus
Finally, something is being done to stop perpetuating the myth of the big, fat, white dude who brings toys to all the “good” kids. “Good” most likely meaning rich, white, male kids. Christmas is SO last century. How exclusionary can you get? Not to mention, Santa himself is a horrible man. Not only does he obviously gorge himself on trans fats and the poison known as corn syrup, but he puts self-esteem diminishing pressure on kids to not be naughty. Thanks to a rather absurd, and so far unpopular, move by officials in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo, Santa will not being coming down the chimneys of public schools this year.
Though a strong tradition for the past half a century, a decision supported by the Islamic community and the nationalist Bosniak (Bosnian Muslim) party has banned Santa from his usual pre-New Year’s rounds to Bosnian nursery schools and kindergartens to hand out gifts to children.
Arzija Mahmutovic, the director of the Children of Sarajevo public institution, which operates 24 public kindergartens in Sarajevo, has refused to organize Santa’s traditional visit, arguing that it is not in the spirit of Islam. However, she added generously, that parents were free to organize a visit by Santa on their own and outside of public schools.
Thankfully, Bosnia isn’t the only enlightened land and the vilifying of Santa, and all the evil that he encompasses, has started to happen here in the USA as well. The War on Christmas lives on, no thanks to that Bill O’Reilly character who is always trying to look out for the “folks.” And by “folks” he obviously means fascist pigs. This year, the post office will no longer run their letter to Santa program.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Thousands of starry-eyed children all over the world are writing letters to the jolly man at the North Pole this holiday season, but they will not likely get a response from Santa Claus or his helpers.
The U.S. Postal Service is dropping a popular effort begun in 1954 in the small Alaska town of North Pole, where volunteers open and respond to thousands of letters addressed to Santa each year. Replies come with North Pole postmarks.
It’s about time! Some parents are still encouraging their kids to believe in Santa. It is probably the same people who will actually read Sarah Palin’s book. Wingnuts! It’s a good thing we have the Smarter Than Us People to set us straight. And they are. They first started here two Christmases – excuse me, Winter Festivals – ago, in Illinois:
(CBS) OAK LAWN, Ill. A southwest suburban school district has taken action, responding to the concerns of a parent who is Arabic. But now, as CBS 2’s Suzanne Le Mignot reports, other parents are angry that traditional school holidays will be renamed or even eliminated. For now, children in Ridgeland School District 122 will celebrate fall festival instead of Halloween and winter festival instead of Christmas.
The decision affects the children at four elementary schools in Oak Lawn and one junior high school in Bridgeview.
The stress of all the Santa and Christmas stuff is one of the reasons we must drug our elementary school kids with Ritalin before sending them off to school. There is far too much pressure placed on The Children by that obvious Fascist. Plus, there is no good or naughty, as we all well know, and everything is just self-expression and freedom of thought. The good kind only, of course. No religious expressions (unless it is some obscure holiday that no one really celebrates. Then it’s diversity, all culture-y and experience-y, and super cool.)
Worse still; do you see how Santa treats his wife? Totally objectifies her in those tight red little numbers. He also treats her like chattel, keeping her stuck up in the North Pole darning his socks all winter long. His workshop is NON Union as well. Those poor little elves are totally exploited.
Superintendent Tom Smyth said, “I go back to our policy which says that public schools are to remain neutral in this respect.”
Meantime, Arab children are being allowed to pray during what’s being called their own time, that’s lunch time, during Ramadan. Parent June Quigley said, “They get to pray in our schools. That is religion in a public school.”
Understandably, there are few things more threatening to Muslims than a lard ass cracker who gives away Barbie dolls (do you see how they dress? Or don’t dress, more to the point! Sluts!) and Wii games. Evil Santa also reinforces the super icky Judeo-Christian idea that good behavior will eventually be rewarded. You have to earn compensation? How oppressive! That’s heresy! It’s also non-politically correct and offensive, as it kind of takes the wind out of the sails of that whole gaggle of virgins after-life theory.
And of course the Muslim students should be allowed to pray in school while Christian and Jewish students can not. The poor Muslims are an oppressed minority and Christians are always flaunting their majority superiority, like how Leonardo DiCaprio flaunts his super-cool (and fake earth saving) Prius. And the Jews? Well, we all know that almost everything bad can be traced back to the Jews, including the election of the BushCo regime. Hanging chads in Florida, my ass. You know who lives in Florida, don’t you? Yep, the Jews. Coincidence?
