BTW, what is headstart for? A learning experience or babysitting club? I’m hearing it’s the latter.

Is it just me or do some of the commenters over there seem a bit…off?
Anyway I am in total agreement–kids are not being permitted to be kids, and learning levels go down a bit each year. Over analysation of their play motives mixed with political agendas and correctness (e.g. pretend grenade) ends up over regulating them until something is about to explode. And then we wonder why kids more and more act inappropriately.
The extreme importance of children’s play is less and less understood by educators, who are amongst those who should be most familiar with the crucial role it plays in children’s development.
