Rep. Bruce Braley (IA-01) today wrote Army Secretary John McHugh to express “growing concern” regarding Army actions that have ended service of breakfast to American troops serving at 17 US military outposts in Afghanistan.
Braley has also been informed by the Army that this policy will be expanded to more locations in Afghanistan beginning on February 1st.

Why did the Army stop serving breakfast? Did it violate shiara law?

@Moe Tom – nah. They are late in making their monthly pay off to the unions and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Sig94. What’s the story behind it? I can’t find anything other than Braley’s letter.

Look for Obama to bring some skinny muslim middle eastern kids on stage as the reason soldiers shouldn’t complain about not getting breakfast.
Then rally the leftwing idiots from the US to send billions in food and aid to the mooselimbs.

An army moves on it’s stomach. If this is true it’s bullshit and vyone up the chain of command responsible removed, busted and publically humiliated.

I wouldn’t be surprised it this is true. When I sent packages to the troops for Christmas, I sent a lot of blankets because they were saying they didn’t have blankets, sheets or pillows and that it was darned cold where they were in Afghanistan up in the mountains.

See CC this is why they cut breakfast, Obama and the libs figured people like you and me who support the troops will do just that, so in the meantime he can send his voters free breakfast.

Supposedly preparation for the troop draw down is the culprit. These are the bases where soldiers are no longer being served with a “hot” (cooked) breakfast and instead use MRE’s. These bases will grow in number; just how many … who knows.

This “streamlines” the logistics for the bases. I wonder if they’ll do the same for ammo.

A good officer will not bed down or eat until his troops are taken care of. And a good soldier will not put his horse away hungry and wet. But our present CIC was never a soldier and neither was his new Sec.of Def. All the reason to get the hell out of that shithole and bring our troops home.
I am getting so fucking disgusted about every thing.

I put this failure on the local commanders. If the logistical tail has gotten this thin they should consolidate the outlying bases to the rear where the troops can be properly supported.
If washington should ask what they are doing, the proper response would be “conservation of force in light of limited logistical support.”
At this point all we are doing there is training the Taliban’s varsity players.

I’ve read that they’re getting MREs instead of a regular breakfast. http://www.kpbs.org/news/2013/jan/15/soldiers-afghanistan-react-change-breakfast-servic/
I can’t imagine a daily MRE being more cost effective than a regular cafeteria meal.
