Older Motorcyclist 3 Times More Likely to Crash and Burn – Dr. Tar

Not easy riders: Aging bikers 3 times more likely to get injured. Most injuries occurred in younger people, but the number of cases among people over 50 increased by 247 percent, from 4,352 to 15,107. While the number of injuries increased in all age groups, the over-50 riders were on a steeper curve by far.

    I don’t know, I wrecked three times before I turned 25 and none thereafter. Inexperience causes a lot of bike wrecks. Old ladies with bad eye sight driving big heavy cars cause a hell of a lot too..
    The old guys are pretty careful. Young guys on crotch rockets – not so much.

    This is why I stopped having birthdays.

    I also move every time a new study comes out and finds most accidents happen within one mile of home.

    I think a lot of them have just now bought their first bike. My brother and I grew up on them starting with 100cc’s and buying bigger as we aged. It takes a lot of confidence to grab a handful throttle when your bike has more horses than your mini-van.
