One of the few times in my life I wish I had enough $$ to do this. The only drawback I can think of is the weather.

Couldn’t they have picked a tad warmer climate?

Northern Idaho is gorgeous. Interesting link, Corky.

Are you seriously contemplating this? Write what you’re comfortable sharing.

Funny timing – I just came across this on Mike Vanderboegh’s blog: http://sipseystreetirregulars.blogspot.com/2013/01/citadel-questions-for-potential.html

It is a well-protected neighborhood and all, but I would prefer not to have to live in a place that’s built like a prison — guard towers included.
Still better than living in any city.

phil arbeit posted about this the other day:

IT’S A SCAM, STAY WELL CLEARED:

Readers may recall that Christian Hyman, aka Sam Kerodin, is not exactly a favorite of mine, since he appeared out of nowhere and attempted to hijack the Three Percent philosophy (with some success since there are suckers born every minute, apparently). His latest scam is something called “Citadel,” wherein he persuades folks to invest in an “Armed ‘Defensible’ Neighborhood Fortress” in Idaho.
It must be admitted that he has certainly scored another propaganda coup by talking the credulous CNS reporter into writing a story that is headlined on Drudge at the moment. Wait for the “exposes” of “gun rights criminals” which will flow from this story when the “mainstream” media begin digging into it. Can a guest shot on Piers Morgan be far behind? A very useful federal stooge is Mr. Hyman, whether he’s being paid or not.

I suspected that. The big down payment is their pocket money.

As interesting as this article was and as much as I would like to come somewhere away from all this craziness–I honestly never considered it because it was “too good to be true” and Dagney certainly provided that evidence. I am surprised it wasn’t a Glenn Beck project!
RosalindJ–my husband and I talk about going someplace all the time but I would like it to be warm!
