Oktai Enimehmedov pulled a “gas pistol” on Ahmed Dogan, the leader of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, in SOFIA, Bulgaria.

    How frickin’ ignorant do you have to be to try to assassinate someone with a gas pistol? Picture a guy firing once then pumping the gun while counting to ten for the next shot while security kicks his ass. I guess stupid really is painful.

    ?? I’m unclear about the pistol now.

    All my guns propel bullets with expanding gas.

    The guy at the podium did NOT react faster than the would-be assasin as the story says. You can see the bad guy pull it back after it didn’t fire.

    It seems the “gas pistol” fires blanks. Turks call that “gas”.

    Here is some more detail about the gun:

    Bulgarian police have identified the gun used in the attack against Movement for Rights and Freedom leader Ahmed Dogan as Turkish-made 9mm gas pistol Ekol Volga.

    According to Dnevnik.bg, local experts have stated that Ekol Volga is a non-lethal self-defense weapon that can also be used in shooting practice.

    An Ekol Volga gas pistol can be bought in Bulgaria for approximately BGN 40.

    In Saturday’s incident, the attacker failed to shoot at Dogan, although he pointed the gun right at his face.

    I think this falls under the sick joke category, or maybe the dumb ass didn’t know it was just a replica gun.

    Thanks, unruly. Through all that and a youtube video describing the gun I can only surmise he was a total, ignorant dumbass.

    Since he had ample time to stab or slash him, I question his commitment.

    Was he set up? is my next question.

    Also, As to the possible malfunction… he may not have cocked it first, treating it like is double action when it’s single action.

    Him being that ignoramt of the gun makes sense.
