Although Dr O’Sullivan does not dispute the evidence of the effect of excessive alcohol consumption on increased mortality and morbidity, she argues there is a growing scientific support that moderate consumption of beer can be associated with health benefits.

    So drinking a two-four every couple days is a bad thing? It’s rare that I get drunk, but my drinking sessions are long. I’ll crack a beer @ 5PM and another @ 5:45, then 6:30 and so on every 45 minutes until I go to bed at 12:30, I’m never buzzed but I do drink a lot of beer!

    It’s the lite beers that make me do this. If I buy a 6er of Milk Stout, I’m stuffed by 9PM.
