You may know Miyazaki as one of the greatest animators alive. And, uh, for the samurai sword he sent to Disney warning them not to cut any scenes from Princess Mononoke. It’s easy to forget, though, that the director emeritus began his career as a master draftsman. Every concept sketch of his drips with a charm and poignancy that makes you wish you could live in his sketchbook.

@Plain Jane the link at the very bottom of the concept stetches gives English captions for Mononoke’s Princess story board. Its a nice story and makes those stetches come alive.
