Update – Fox’s Charles Leaf/Hisham Elzanaty links have disappeared.

We’re happy to report that Charles Leaf of Fox News is hot on the trail of Hisham Elzanaty, a name that iOTW first began investigating as soon as Leaf published Sharif el Gamal’s mortgage paperwork for the property now known as Park 51.

Mr. Pinko Update:
Holy Land Foundation – HLF, the largest Muslim fund-raising organization in America was shut down in 2001 for funneling money to Hamas. Hisham El Zanaty donated money to HLF.

On August 25th there was virtually nothing but a few mentions of Elzanaty on Google. Now it’s filled with info, much of it first broken here on iOTW, and that is a testament to the power of the internet.

Leaf’s investigation has re-focused on Elzanaty, the main financial backer for the Mega Mosque. The information uncovered by Leaf is so damning (Elzanaty has donated money to Hamas through a shadow organization) that Leaf asked the Kirstin Gillibrand campaign (who Elzanaty donated $500 to, information first brought to light on iOTW) what they thought of Elzanaty’s donation.

The Gillibrand campaign has vowed to donate $500 to charity, which would represent Elzanaty’s donation.

Tomorrow the Obama administration launches yet another socialistic maneuver, reducing up to 1.5 million mortgage balances for homeowners who owe more than their homes are worth.

Wall Street Journal — “[This is] the first initiative to target homeowners who are current on their mortgage payments but are at risk of default because they have no equity in their homes.”

Hidden Message: All Americans are entitled to homes, and now…equity — but only if they’re irresponsible.

“Under the new ‘short refinance’ program, banks and other creditors that write down mortgages to less than the value of the property can essentially hand off the reduced loan to the government.”

WSJ just substituted the word ‘government’ for the phrase ‘responsible American’ again. Probably a typo.

“While the program puts taxpayers at risk—officials estimate one in five loans in the program could default.”

We completely understand — government must redistribute risk, not just wealth.

Our old boss, mentor and good friend, Oleg Atbashian, has written a new and important book, Shakedown Socialism- Progress To Nowhere. Oleg is the owner/creator/editor/life blood of The People’s Cube – a site that Rush Limbaugh has called the Stalinist version of The Onion.

Oleg has already lived under the oppressive thumb of statism, having been born and raised in Russia, and ever since he emigrated to America he has been alerting everyone to the telltale warning signs of our creeping socialism.

The book has been endorsed heartily by such luminaries as David Horowitz, Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller. That’s some impressive list of endorsements. Now the book needs to be reviewed by some plain ol’ folk. And that sounds like a mission for iOTW.

Daryl Cagle drew a cartoon of the Mexican flag where the regal eagle in the center of the flag is riddled with bullets, apparently gunned down in a drug cartel firefight.

The pic is hilarious. Mexicans don’t think so. Boo hoo. Everyone gets to be a victim and offended. The real test is how we react. Dhimmitude is already the disgusting response to Muslim demands, will asshats follow suit in response to Mexico’s offended sensibilities? Sombrerotude? (oooooo, did I offend? A retired dentist Young C. Park whose dedicated craftsmanship has fabricated some truly amazing model airplanes using aluminum.

Philip Warren spent the past 62 years faithfully recreating an armada of 432 Royal Navy warships out of matchsticks and wooden matchboxes. Over the last six decades, he has painstakingly crafted every naval warship afloat, in service or to have come in since the second World War.

79-year-old Philip, a retired company director from Blandford, Dorset, England, began creating his first ship in 1948 when he was just 17. He uses a razor blade, tweezers and sandpaper to carve the matches and boxes before piecing them together using PVA and balsa wood glue. In total he has utilized more than 650,000 to create his incredibly detailed 1:300 scale models.

We’re not picking up the ping pong balls without a hazmat suit.
